⋆ RANKS ⋆ Leader;- This is the highest rank in the clan. All ranks below this must always obey the leader, even if the instructions are beyon unreasonable. If the leader dies, the deputy immediately takes over. The leader resides in a den fit for both the deputy and the leader. The leader must be at least 25 moons, and a resident of Pineclan for at least 12 moons. They will carry out duties such as announcments, leading pack hunts, patrols, and armies.
Deputy;- This is the secondary leader. Of course, they can create instructions on their own, but more major instructions must be passed through the leader. The deputy is usually the most fit of the leader's offspring, or, if there is only one offspring, they are chosen. If the leader has not born/taken up any offspring, then they are usually chosen out of the leaders most fit foe. The deputy resides in a medium-small den fit perfectly for the conversing, and eatings of the leader and deputy. The deputy must be at least 20 moons and a resident of Pineclan for at least 8 moons. The deputy will carry out minor announcements such as storm callings, deaths, and births. They will as well lead pack hunts, and patrols, and may even mentor the leader's offspring.
Medicine Cat;- The doctor of the clan, the medicine cat heals any injured amongst the clan. The medicine cat bears it's own seperate den, that is quite large. Both the medicine cat, medicine cat apprentice, and any ill or injured cats will reside here. The medicine cat's duties consist of reminding elders to eat, bringing food to nursing queens, healing the ill or injured, and working alongside the clan during wars. They must have had been a medicine cat apprentice for at least 6 moons, and a resident of Pineclan for 2 moons.
Medicine Cat Apprentice;- The medicine cat apprentice is usually 6-12 moons old. They are mentored by the medicine cat. There can be up to two of these during times of peace, but that is rare. They reside in the same den as the medicine cat. The medicine cat apprentice will assist the medicine cat in times of war, and will assist during any major injuries of a cat, or take over when a medicine cat dies, or will temporarily take over when the medicine cat is ill or injured. Their duties consist of reminding warriors to hunt, collecting herbs for the medicine cat, and healing minor injuries or illnesses.
Warrior;- Warriors are the bulk of the pack. To imagine a warrior, is to imagine a soldier of an army. But of course, they don't just fight. The warriors of Pineclan are usually above 12 moons, unless they graduated earlier or later. Warriors reside in a rather large den consisting with many nests, and are immediately moved to the nursery or medicine cat's den if pregnant or ill/injured. The duties of a warrior consist of hunting, fishing, patrolling alongside the border, mentoring apparentices, and fighting alongside the pack.
Apprentice;- These guys are mainly juveniles. They reside in a medium-large den, and can be immediately removed if sick or injured. They are mentored by warriors unless they are offspring of the leader, in which they will be mentored by the deputy. They must be at least 6 moons old, and must have been an apprentice for at least 2 moons before becoming a warrior. Apprentices can also be as old as 40 moons. This only occurs if a cat from another clan moves into Pineclan. This gives them time to prove that they're fit for the clan, and allows them to learn the ways of the clan. Duties the apprentices carry out are tending to the elders by grooming them and changing their bedding. They will assist in minor quarrels within the clans, and help with hunting, and do minor patrolling around the camp.
Kit;- The youngsters of the clan. These guys are 0-6 moons old, and reside in the nursery with their mother until they are ready to be weaned off. These guys don't have any duties, but they are usually pushed into listening to the stories elders tell them, and getting to know the environment they will soon grow up in. Kits that were abandoned by other clans are taken in and fostered by another queen after being checked for illnesses by the medine cat. They can not leave the camp unless assisted by their mother, but even with a queen by their side they musn't leave the border.
Elder;- These are the story-tellers of the clan. They are usually around 150 moons, sometimes younger, sometimes older. Elders can also be VERY young warriors, as young as 40 moons. In this case, this is either because the warrior is too crippled to move on their own, deaf AND blind, or just unable to carry out any duties. Elders will look after kits if there are no queens present, and will check on the sick or injured in case the medicine cat and apprentice are gone. They are very respected amongst the clan, and are required best possible treatment, for they fought the longest and lived throught he most.
Queen;- The queens are the nursing mothers. Queens can be nursing their own kits, or fostering abandoned kits or kits that have lost their mother. They reside in the nursery with the kits at all times, which is a medium sized den. This den resides in the elder's camp. Queens must be at least 15 moons old, if they are any younger, their kits will be given to another queen to foster, whilst that warrior may still see them. Queens can be temporary if they're only nursing their own kits until weaned, or permanent if they want to foster orphans. Their duties consist of nursing kits, excersizing kits, babysitting, and keeping close watch on any odd behaviours that can show the kit is ill or injured.
